Overall, I think that the assignments on the connect was the most useful overall. Especially the analysis of "Conscious Chimpanzees." It really helped guide the draft and understand what is expected. I also think the reading assignments helped as well, like with watching "Bird Brains" and reading Safina's Beyond Words. It really helped me find good sources and starting points for my research. The time article annotations were fairly useful as well, as they helped me grow accustomed to reading and analysis.
I think my draft fulfills most of the minimum requirements, however it also does not really go beyond that. I used three sources in my body paragraph, which I believe represents my topic very well. I also believe that I summarized their findings pretty well. However, somethings I worry about is the organization, and my thesis. I talked about how corvid intelligence could be an important step to finding intelligence in other animals, but I don't really know how that could transfer into the advocacy project. I think it would be easier to reference intelligence in crows leading to intelligence in other exotic bird species and bird in general.

For the SMC I'm not too sure how I should go about it, but I think that I will be talking somewhat about how crows are viewed poorly. I know of a few crow-related accounts on Twitter, but I'm not sure if that would count as most of them are just bird watchers (and post pictures). I think if crows are too difficult, I will end up generalizing to all birds, as there are a lot more conservation efforts being made towards exotic birds, and towards migratory birds.
